Chestnut Tree
Also known as the "cobnut. " Heart Nut - A kidney-shaped
nut that grows on the outside of the cashew apple at its
base. The shell is highly toxic. These nuts have a sweet
buttery flavor and contain about 48% fat. More commonly
known as "cashew nuts. " Hickory Nut - An extremely hard-shelled,
high-fat nut used in cakes, cookies, sweet breads, and
candies.

Chestnut Tree Articles Peanuts are the most nutrient-dense of the nuts, with INQs of one or more for nine nutrients: fiber, vitamin E, thiamin, niacin, folate, phosphorus, magnesium, copper, and manganese. Several trees of the Juglandaceae are of commercial importance for the edible nuts and for lumber. Nuts on sale in the baking section of supermarkets are usually past their best and freshly shelled nuts in the vegetable aisle are a better bet. Typically, the buds, fruits, flowers, and undersides of the leaves are covered with yellowish scales. The nut of this tree is more easily extracted from the shell than that of the black walnut and is the one usually sold commercially for use as a table nut and for confectionery, flavorings, and sometimes pickling. Pesto with pine nuts and Romesco sauce, a traditional dish from Spain, is made with hazelnuts and almonds. A few of these trees here and there in the Iberian Peninsula have been propagated by grafting, like other orchard trees, and the acorns are grown and used as a crop.
